Buat saya, salah satu drama terbaik 2011 adalah Tree With Deep Roots. Awalnya saya menonton drama tsb hanya karena kangen dengan Jang Hyuk dan Song Joong Ki. Ternyata tidak hanya 2 pemain itu yang bermain bagus. Hampir semua jajaran cast-nya bermain sangat baik dan pas. Saya akui pihak casting drama ini tidak salah pilih. Awalnya saya ragu dengan Han Suk Kyu yang menggantikan Song Joong Ki yang bermain briliant di awal episode, ternyata Han Suk Kyu bermain habis2an di drama ini. Aktingnya mengingatkan saya pada akting Sean Penn di Mystic River.
Jalan ceritanya juga cukup apik dengan latar fiksi sejarah pembuatan hangul (huruf korea) dengan sedikit bumbu investigasi ala seri CSI atau Sherlock Holmes serta konspirasi politik. Adegan action-nya juga cukup oke. Pokoknya saya terhibur nonton drama ini. Hanya saja,mungkin tidak semua orang suka dengan drama ini, karena minim bumbu2 percintaan. tidak heran drama ini jadi the best drama SBS dan aktornya banyak meraih penghargaan, termasuk Han Suk Kyu yang meraih Daesang Award.
